Home short sleeve shirt as worn during the 2021/22 EPL campaign with central defender Virgil van Dijk's printing. The Dutchman joined Liverpool from Southampton in January 2018 for a fee of £75 million, a world record transfer fee for a defender at the time. Van Dijk made an immediate impact at Liverpool, winning the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League title within his first few seasons of joining the club. In the 2021/22 season, Liverpool were a whisker away from completing an unprecedented quadruple, winning the FA Cup and EFL Cup, but then finishing second behind Manchester City by a single point in the league, and then losing 1-0 to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League Final.

The 2021/22 shirt is red in colour with the collar a bright red at the front and dark green and beige at the back. The sleeve cuffs are also bright red, whilst the Nike logo and club badge are also beige in colour, along with the 'Standard Chartered' sponsor and 'Expedia' sleeve sponsor.
