Fantasy Football Update - September
Wake me up when September ends....... what have I missed? Well I've been reliably informed by my sources that the early signs are all pointing to a two horse race between the blue and red sides of Manchester. Both teams are currently experiencing purple patches, with the highlight of City's season coming in their 5-0 thrashing over Liverpool, whose owner must have felt like an American Idiot after that one. As for United, their improved home form has been the key difference compared to last year and the Red Devils will be hoping that Old Trafford continues to be a Theatre of Dreams, rather than a Boulevard of Broken Dreams.
Manager: Hasrul Rasyid
Gameweek Points: 74
Overall Points: 454
A strong gameweek score of 74 by Hasrul's HRH17 CF means we have a new leader, as top spot in the FSM Superliga continues to be a poisoned chalice. Matt Pendrey's The Landmark had been the front runner heading into the month's final round of matches, but a modest 51 points suggests his international break won't be quite as relaxing as originally planned. Hasrul can afford to put his feet up though, putting together a side which has goals all over the park. In fact, his midfielders could even afford to have an off day in gameweek 7, as Nacho Monreal ended his 1660-day drought without a Premier League goal. Throw into the mix a penalty save by Fraser Forster and double points for Harry Kane as captain, and there was simply no stopping Mr Rasyid.
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK
Manager: Saahil Jeewooth
Gameweek Points: 81
Overall Points: 413
Heisenberg FC were the stand out performers in gameweek 7, but what was their secret you ask? Well the players were certainly not lacking chemistry... In many respects, the personnel is similar to current leader Hasrul's with Fraser Forster, Nacho Monreal and Harry Kane bagging the majority of the points. However, Kieran Trippier ensured that Saahil's high will last for longer than normal as the Spurs defender notched up a clean sheet and two assists in his side's emphatic victory at Huddersfield. To sustain this level of performance, we suggest that Saahil sticks with his current recipe instead of getting hooked on players from Crystal (Meth) Palace*.
