Home short sleeve shirt as worn during the 2019/20 La Liga season by Luka Modric. Widely regarded as one of the best midfielders of his generation and the greatest Croatian footballer of all time, he has come a long way since being displaced from his home as a youngster during the Croatian War of Independence. Modric started his career at Dinamo Zagreb, where, after spending a couple of seasons out on loan, he was able to establish himself in the first team at the age of 20. He quickly made a name for himself as Dinamo won three consecutive league and cup doubles and in 2008, Tottenham Hotspur were persuaded to splash out a club record transfer fee of £16.5 million to secure his services. The highlight of his stay in North London undoubtedly came as Spurs reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League in the 2010/11 season - the club's first appearance in the competition for almost 50 years. Since signing for Real Madrid in 2012, Modric has played a key role in elevating Los Blancos to the very top of European football once again. With four Champions League titles and 17 major trophies since his arrival, it wasn't surprising when he became the first player other than Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo to win the Ballon d'Or in more than a decade.
This Adidas player issue home shirt comes in white and gold and reintroduces a fans' favourite colour combination last used in 2011/12. The golden tint can be seen on the three Adidas stripes on the shoulders, the Fly Emirates logo, the collar and the sleeve cuffs. The shirt also comes with the heat-pressed La Liga sleeve patch - a unique feature to the player issue version.
