Home short sleeve shirt as worn during the 2019/20 EPL season by Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian attacking midfielder started his career in his homeland at Genk and made his professional debut aged 17 in 2009. Despite being so young, it wasn't long before he established himself in the first XI and in the 2010/11 season, he played a vital role in ensuring Genk became Belgian champions for only the third time in their history. With his performances catching the attention of Europe's top clubs, it was no surprise when Chelsea announced his signing in January 2012, but ultimately his time in West London was short lived. Many will argue he didn't get the chance to prove himself as he was loaned out to Werder Bremen almost immediately after arriving at the club. Was he one that got away? With the benefit of hindsight you would have to say so...
After leaving Chelsea, De Bruyne got his career back on track at Wolfsburg in Germany, where he had previously impressed with Werder Bremen. In the 2014/15 season, he took his game to a whole new level by setting a Bundesliga record for assists, as well as being named the 2015 Footballer of the Year in Germany. This was enough to persuade Manchester City to fork out a club record fee of £55 million for De Bruyne in August 2015, in what was the second most expensive transfer in British football history. It is fair to say, the Belgian has more than repaid his hefty price tag since joining City and is now widely considered as one of the best players in the world. In his time at the club, he has won 2x Premier League titles, 1x FA Cup and 4x League Cups. Can he help City to add that elusive Champions League title?
This Puma home shirt is their first installment as City's kit manufacturer after replacing Nike. It comes in the club's traditional sky blue colours and has '125 Years' printed below the club crest to commemorate the club's anniversary. The purple coloured Etihad sponsor, Puma logo and stripes running down the sleeves give the shirt a classy feel, which also has a simple v-collar.
